About Us
Way Out West Equine Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (EIN#: 87-2308242). Here at Way Out West, we are driven to help horses in need and do our part in making our equestrian community a better place. Way Out West was started, unknowingly, when Olivia Blanck and Lauren Mitchell decided to take a risk and rescue a horse off a photo from a kill pen in Texas. "Billy" was a scared and shy horse that they worked with for over a year before finding him the perfect home. This started the idea to continue to help horses that are in need and out of time. Way Out West was created and became official in August of 2021. Since then, Way out West, with generous donations from our community, has been able to rescue 8 horses from slaughter and are eager to save more. What We Do
Locate Horses at feed lots that are out of time and about to ship to slaughter
bring them to our stable re-hab get them veterinary care and proper nutrition
Evaluate them and start preparing them for adoption. In some cases we permanently retire horses who aren't adoptable and just need to live their lives in peace and comfort.

Please consider donating to our cause! Not only will you be directly contributing toward the care and lives of our current horses but you will also get a tax deduction! 100% of the profits goes towards care, maintenance and bail for these "un-wanted" equines.
