At Way Out West we love all horses! Especially the weird and overlooked ones. The ones that are easy to get thrown away when they become a nuisance.

With our work at the rescue we do our part to make the horse world a bit better and a bit kinder.

​

This means that each year we take in a few horses otherwise bound for the slaughter pipeline.

​

Once they're with us we FULLY commit to them and their wellbeing.

​

If you know horses, you know that full commitment takes not just food and shelter, but also vet and farrier care, supplements, rehabilitation, training and time.

​

Healing can't be rushed and only unfolds with great care.

​
